Expansion of Previous Recall of Certain Reese (P/N 54970) and Pro Series
(P/N 63970) Weight Distribution Shanks Recall No. 11E027 December 2011 Dear Valued Customer: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Cequent Performance Products, Inc. ("Cequent") has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain production lots of Reese and Pro Series brand weight distribution shanks. Our records indicate that you may have purchased a weight distribution kit potentially containing one of the recalled shanks.* If you purchased one of these kits prior to August 1, 2010, you are not affected by this recall. However, if you purchased your kit on or after August 1, 2010, please review this notice carefully. IMPORTANT NOTE: You may have received a prior notice concerning this recall. Cequent has decided to expand this recall to include additional serial numbers. Accordingly, please review the information below to determine whether your product is covered. What Products are Involved? This recall involves Reese Part No. 54970 and Pro Series Part No. 63970 weight distribution shanks marked with serial numbers TD100391 through TD100523. These parts were sold both individually and as a component in certain Reese and Pro Series weight distributing kits. What is the Problem? As a result of a production error, some weight distribution shanks were not manufactured to the correct specifications. As a consequence, the shank may fracture when subjected to load during installation or use, potentially causing a crash. What You Should Do? Please follow these instructions to determine if you own one of the recalled shanks. 1. Locate the serial number on the shank, If the serial number falls within the range TD100391 through TD100523, or if the serial number cannot be read, please contact Cequent Customer Service at 1-877-208-2573 to coordinate pickup and replacement of the shank. Thor Motor Coach
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling 165 model year 2010 Windsport and Hurricane motorhomes manufactured from April 27, 2009 through Sept. 3, 2010. On these vehicles, the exhaust system is close to the vehicle's storage compartment. Heat can build up in this area.
Heat buildup could result in a fire, property damage, personal injury or death.
TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install a heat shield to protect the storage compartment from the heat generated by the exhaust. This service will be performed free of charge. TMC has not provided NHTSA with a notification schedule. Owners may contact TMC at 1.877.855.2867.

Spartan Chassis:
Spartan Chassis is recalling model year 2011-2012 K2 RVs manufactured from September 2010 through November 2011, rated at 52,000 pounds and equipped with 3030 brake chambers, according to the NHTSA. Potentially 35 units are affected by the recall.
The recalled vehicles fail to comply with federal requirements for the park brake and draw bar, according to the NHTSA. The park brake on the units may not hold the vehicle in place, possibly causing it to roll.
Spartan chassis will notify owners and install improved brake chambers free-of-charge, according to the NHTSA.
Keystone RV:
Keystone RV has revised its remedy process and is again recalling 2009-2011 RVs with the generator-ready option, or with a standard generator, according to NHTSA. The affected Keystone lines include the 2010-2011 Alpine; 2010-2011 Avalanche; 2009-2010 Challenger; 2009-2010 Everest; 2009-2011 Fuzion; 2009-2011 Montana; 2009-2011 Montana Big Sky; 2010-2011 Montana High Country; and 2010-2011 Montana Mountaineer. Potentially 6,101 units are affected.
Among the affected units, some Iota ITS-50R transfer switches are experiencing failures in the affected units when exposed to high electrical loads, according to NHTSA. The failure is causing connections and wiring in the transfer switch to degrade and over heat. Continued use of the RVs without replacing the transfer switch may damage appliances, and increase the risk of a fire, personal injury, and property damage.
Keystone RV will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer switch free-of-charge, according to the NHTSA.
The remedy for the previous recall (10V-594) was to inspect and tighten the switch connections.
Jayco Inc. is recalling its 2012 Jay Flight and Eagle Super Lite half-ton travel trailers manufactured Oct. 6-17, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Approximately 80 units are affected.The power converters on the affected units may have been built with an undersized input coil, which may cause overheating, smoking, and melting of the converter, possibly resulting in a fire, according to NHTSA.Jayco will notify owners, and Jayco dealers will repair the travel trailers as necessary, free of charge, according to NHTSA. The safety recall is expected to begin in December.
Jayco recently announced two recalls on RVs:

Jayco is recalling model year 2007-2008 Jay Feather LGT travel trailers manufactured from October 2006 through April 2008, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA). These travel trailers may have insufficient clearance between the tires and the wheel well. As consequence, this could allow the tires to contact the wheel well increasing the risk of a crash, injury, or death.

Jayco is also recalling model year 2010- 2011 Greyhawk Class C motorhomes, manufactured from May 2009, through September 2010 for an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on affected transfer switches, according to NHTSA. As consequence, this could lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch, increasing the risk of a fire, injury or death.
Navistar, Inc is recalling 78 model year 2011 Monaco Vesta and Holiday Rambler Trip RVs manufactured from May 28, 2010 through May 18,2011. The fuse in the high beam headlight electrical circuit may blow under normal operating conditions, disabling the headlights without warning, possibly resulting in reduced driver visibility. Reduced driver visibility increases the risk of a crash, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death.
Dutchmen Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling 171 model year2011-2012 Rubicon travel trailers manufactured from Dec. 8, 2010 through July15, 2011. These vehicles may have been manufactured with the exterior furnace vent not installed in the sidewall of the trailer. The furnace can run with out the proper exhaust ventilation and release carbon monoxide to the interior of the unit. This could result in asphyxiation or carbon monoxide poisoning. The heat build-up from the exhaust can also result in a fire.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Winnebago Industries, Inc. is recalling 418 model year2009-2012 Winnebago Access, Access Premier, Chalet and model year 2011 Itasca Impulse and Impulse Silver motorhomes manufactured from March 5, 2008 through April 28, 2011. These vehicles may have the potential for the propane supply hose to make contact with the metal door frame.
Contact with the door frame may wear through the hose causing a propane leak, which could ignite and result in personal injury or death.
Dealers will check to make sure the propane supply hose is not damaged and replace it if necessary, and add a clamp route hose away from any unfriendly surfaces. This service will be performed free of charge. Owners may contact Winnebago Industries Owner Relations at 1.641.585.6939.

Fleetwood RV, Inc. is recalling 359 model year 2010 AmericanEagle, American Tradition, Discovery, Revolution LE and model year 2011 AmericanEagle, American Heritage, American Tradition, Bounder, Bounder Classic,Discovery, Expedition, Providence, Revolution LE and Southwind Class Amotorhomes quipped with Murray or Siemens brand circuit breakers. These circuitbreakers have a non-conforming "spring clip" plug-in assembly that breaks orfails to provide sufficient force to maintain a proper electrical connection inthe panel board. The condition could lead to excessive temperature, arcing orthermal damage at the connection point, and potential damage to the panelboard's electrical insulation. This could lead to fire, property damage orpersonal injury.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. is recalling 51 model year 2012ERA motorhomes manufactured from Nov. 11, 2010 through July 13, 2011, forfailing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety StandardNo. 120, "Tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars."These vehicles are quipped with the wrong vehicle weight label. It is anon-compliance issue: the weight information is on the wrong format label.
Owners will be provided with new labels and installation instructions. At thecustomer's option, a dealer can perform the installation for them. This servicewill be performed free of charge. Owners may contact Winnebago at1.641.585.6939. Winnebago's Safety Recall No. is 123.
Airstream is recalling 66 model year 2011-2012 Avenuecoaches manufactured from May 10, 2010 through July 29, 2011. The driver's andpassenger's seat swivel mechanism locking pin could loosen and become disengagedfrom the swivel mechanism, allowing the seat to swivel back and forth going downthe road. The swiveling could lead to a distraction that could cause a crash,resulting in personal injury to the vehicle's occupants.
